More eXlinks Information

When I read the December Newsletter from Blog Mad I found that it contains the following information on the much awaited eXlinks:

We know that you have been hearing eXlinks eXlinks eXlinks for a while now and we’ve been pretty quiet about, except for the overzealous user who managed to take a few screenshots of a private area, but the low down is this: eXlinks means exponential linking. The way we have structured the site and the function is that its going to work on who you refer. The more people you refer, the more incoming links you will get and we all know that incoming links is king! It’s structured in such a way that you will have blogs and sites that link to other people that link to you. It’s the best thing since sliced cheese and we are almost ready to release a working alpha version. In the meantime, get busy and start referring your friends and fellow bloggers. The reason we kept it as a separate site is so that we can allow general sites and forums to get in on the action too so you get incoming links from any web presence and not just blogs. Diversity is where it’s at! Go visit the eXlinks website and get the referrer images and banners.
So, if you have a website, even if it's not a blog, go sign up for eXlinks!

Holy Kama Sutra!

Wow! I gotta say I like the result. I was just thinking a month or two ago about looking into Tantra... it just seems like it's probably too "spiritual" for my taste. I think overall the description kind of fits, but gives me a little too much credit in the "master" or "guru" arena.

68% Socialist??

You Are 32% Capitalist, 68% Socialist

You tend to be quite wary of businesses, especially big business.

While you know that corporations have their place, you tend to support small, locally owned shops.

As far as the rich go, you think they're usually corrupt and immoral.

I don't know if I agree with those percentages at all. The truth is, I think both systems are crap. I agree with the description pretty well, though.

Dante's Inferno

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Second Level of Hell!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
LevelScore
Purgatory (Repenting Believers)Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)Moderate
Level 2 (Lustful)Extreme
Level 3 (Gluttonous)Moderate
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious)Very Low
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)Low
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)Very High
Level 7 (Violent)High
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)Moderate
Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous)Moderate

Take the Dante's Inferno Hell Test

This makes sense to me, I suppose. The only one I didn't agree with so much was the High rating for Level 7 - Violence. I guess that was so high because suicides are depicted on that level.

What Accent?

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

The Midland

The Northeast

Philadelphia

The South

The West

Boston

I do think I speak pretty standard English, but I actually call carbonated drinks "soda pop" to avoid confusion.

Introduction

While surfing around the blogosphere, primarily on BlogMad (and by the way, have you signed up for eXlinks yet?), I discovered that a number of the blogs I liked wouldn't allow comments unless you had a Blogger account. So here I am.

I actually have a "real" blog, One Guy's Thoughts, that's hosted on Wordpress.

I've been writing there since August of 2006. I write about the things that are most important to me -- my thoughts (of course), feelings and ideas; my philosophy and ideology; my relationship with my partner, One Girl; my hopes for our future and more. I can get pretty heavy sometimes, but by all means check it out.

Oh yeah, I also do HNT (Half-Nekkid Thursday) there.

I like Wordpress a lot, so I don't plan on switching over to Blogger for that stuff. However, it's somewhat limiting in that I can't post anything with script tags of div tags. That means that a lot of the ubiquitous polls and surveys just don't work on my main site. So, I've decided to use this site for my "Distractions".

I might also add some other light content as time goes by -- short or funny stories, photographs, quick observations, whatever.
